Gerik Fire and Rescue Station chief Azizul Aswad Asaris said that some of the fires may be caused by the attitude of the irresponsible citizens throwing their burning trash into the forest such as cigarettes, and may be caught by out fires by the El Nino.
"Fire spreads easily when the people are careless and not sensitive to the hot weather condition," Azizul Aswad said when he contacted here today.
Azizul Aswad also believed that the fire incident in Jalan Kekabu was also caused by the careless attitude of the public and their cigarette manner.
